Today Chaucer focuses upon high quality Made in the USA belts, bags, and wallets. Capabilities include using all types of leather and fabric. Our belts include flat bridle jeans styles, feather-edge dress styles, and exotic reptile leather hand-pieced to the exact size. Our bags are generally less constructed with a focus on beautiful leathers and fabrics. Tote bags and hand bags are carefully crafted by hand from glove leather, American Bison, Woolrich® wools, and 20 oz Cotton Canvas to our customers’ exact specifications. Our wallets are simple and elegant with all leather and part fabric constructions.
We use all types of leathers, including Cowhide, American Bison, North American Elk, American Alligator, Crocodile, Lizard, Ostrich, and Snake. We also have expertise in all types of Nylon Belts, Pattern Belts, Outdoor Belts, and Fabric Belts with leather points.
We source raw materials from the USA and all over the world. From leather to metal parts to plastics to canvas yard goods, Chaucer can source and design custom raw materials in leather, solid brass, zinc alloy, aluminum, PU, and natural fiber products.
We also produce products in Asia through trusted partner factories. Working in China, India, Indonesia, Japan, and Korea, we have over 25 years of direct relationships with responsible material and finished goods factories. Generally, minimums start at 300 pcs/style/color for foreign sourced programs.
Chaucer Leather is a unique manufacturer that can produce volume quantities or just a few pieces. Through our many years working with resources around the world, we can build products that suit a wide range of needs and tastes. Typically, our customers come to us because they are a start up, have had problems with their current sources or have out-grown their sources. We are a production factory and usually work in quantities of 100-3000 pcs per order/style. Deliveries average 3-6 weeks. We generally do not run proto-types and suggest all designs are proto-typed by a qualified designer before coming to us for final samples and commencing production.
Our customers include specialty stores, retail catalogs, wholesale brands, and OEM contracts. Each day we produce products that are shipped to all parts of North America and sometimes to Asia and Europe. We custom package each product with attention to details of customer specific packaging and shipping directions. We are EDI compliant and can ship with all major carriers.
